Thank you for joining Dear Leader, the free daily leadership letter by Elvis C. Umez. Your trust matters to us, so this policy explains, as simply as we can, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Dear Leader is published by Life Assess Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16293032). Our registered address is Wellington House, Suite 332, 90-92 Butt Road, Colchester CO3 3DA. Life Assess Limited is the data controller for your personal information.

When you sign up at https://dearleader.elviscumez.com, we collect:
• your email address
• your first name, if you choose to give it
When you receive our emails, our email platform records standard information such as whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. The sign-up page also uses the basic analytics and cookies provided by our email platform.
We do not ask for anything else.
We use your information to:
• send you the Dear Leader daily letter, starting on 1 December 2026
• send you the free PDF that comes with your subscription
• greet you by name, if you have given it
• understand, in general terms, which letters are useful so we can keep improving them
We rely on your consent under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). We use double opt-in: after you sign up, we send you an email asking you to confirm. We only start sending the letter once you have confirmed.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by writing to hello@elviscumez.com.
We use Kit (Kit, Inc., kit.com), a US-based email platform, to manage sign-ups and send our emails. Kit processes your information on our behalf and under our instructions.
We never sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing.
Because Kit is based in the United States, your information is transferred to and stored in the US. Kit states that it complies with the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and its Data Processing Addendum also refers to the Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA). These are recognised safeguards designed to keep your information protected to UK standards.

We keep your information for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending emails and keep only a minimal suppression record (essentially your email address marked as unsubscribed). This is so we can respect your choice and make sure we do not email you again by mistake.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
• access the personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• ask us to delete your information
• ask us to restrict how we use it
• object to how we use it
• receive your information in a portable format
• withdraw your consent at any time

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at https://ico.org.uk.
If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will let you know by email.
